How hard is it to get money in Cambodia?

My friends made the mistake of not taking enough travellers checks and/or cash with them to Cambodia and started running out of money. Throughout Thailand it was easy enough to just get a couple thousand baht from an ATM. Unfortunately that was not the case in Cambodia and they ended up having to ration food to keep enough money for the bus and it was all a bit touch and go.

Just a brief note on Cambodia really - I don’t recall seeing any cash points in Sihanoukville, though there are several in Phnom Penh now, and two in Siam Reap, probably more by now. Getting money out wasn’t a problem though, I didn’t take any travellers cheques with me - just roll up to a bank with your bank card and passport and withdraw it over the counter, ask in a guesthouse if you’re not sure where to go. Of course, if wherever you are doesn’t have a bank at all, you’re screwed.
