Where is a good hostel to stay in Luang Prabang?

Luang Prabang was one of the stand-out places on the trip. Really lovely place. It was helped a lot by the fantastic guesthouse we stayed at - Sysomphon Guesthouse. It was run by such a cool family that really made you feel part of it. He kept making French toast and would offer round bananas and foul tasting lao lao all the time and all the guests would chill out with each other and the family.

I’ve found someone else’s review of the place that seems to be pretty accurate. http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/a0b1f/135f02/3/

Try and have a spare passport photo with you as well, as the guy who runs it has a big book with photos of everyone who has stayed there.

The town as well is also just seriously cool. It had a lot of character (as opposed to Vang Vieng, or the slightly tedious Vientiane). Laos isn’t really a place you go for the sights, so much as for the people and atmosphere. There isn’t really a list of ‘things to see’ but just chill and have fun.

We stayed at the Khun and Con Guest House and had a brilliant time. Khun and Con really make you feel part of the family and their kids are cute as well. Its not the dog’s bollocks when it comes to luxury, but that isnt what makes luang prabang so great now is it. Cheers.

I’m interested in going to the Khun and Con Guesthouse. Do you know how to book with them? Do you know how to get there or do taxi drivers know the place?

I’m searching for advice on this place, but it’s SO hard to find !!
