It was extremely quiet, yet right on the Mekong. Enjoyable and very few farang, there is an internet cafe. I stayed in room for 1 dollar per night, this was about four years ago. You can make a border run to Burma very easy, so you can stay a long time. I think maybe they changed the visa to 15 days on this type of run, but would need to check again.
